That's the way it goes, at least on Willit? Jim. I put the spring clip on the crank then the spring on the crank shaft, the plastic/nylon washer over the spring, recess towards the window crank, on the outside of the door panel, then smack the window crank on the mechanism shaft. The crank slips on to the shaft and the spring clip falls in to the groove on the shaft and locks everything in place. BTW, the dreaded P.O. lost the #2 rubber washer, Willit? didn't have one on either door. Simple.
