Thanks everyone for the input. I went fishing around for hidden nuts and bolts and I guess different models are held in differently. This is a 75 Ascona and it had three plastic tabs along the inside edge running along the bottom. After cutting the sealant all the way around with a plastic putty knife, then I lifted up at the bottom and the thing swings up and out. It does have an air vent at the top so it can't come straight out. This one didn't have any mounts for any screws or bolts, just held in with those molded plastic clips on the bottom and rubber caulk.
