Thanks Rob,
I also had a great time again. A much bigger turn out this year. Once I swapped out the dead battery in the GT Sunday morning & bungee corded in the oversize one from my truck, the GT ran great both up & back. Caravaning with the Gages in their Manta, we had plenty of curious stares & even had a few pictures taken as cars drove past.
The food was great, plenty of beer & even some Birthday cake. Just seeing Rob's collection of rare Opels is worth the drive. The hotel was very nice & the weather both days was perfect. The drive back to the States was nice other than the treasure hunt to find a Beer Store that had some Steam Whistle in stock. After 4 stops we were finally loaded up (the cars, not us) & ready to cross the border.
The customs officer (young kid) asked if the GT was 280z or something. I gave him a brief Opel history lesson & passed right through. Once back in Erie,PA we stopped at another Opelers house for a while. I had a few other things to do while in Erie, so I didn't get in until 11pm last night.
I'm looking forward to next years BBQ already.
Thanks again,
~ Tom
