I have the 1970 Kadett Wagon in the paint shop so I need to get the roof rack done asap (like Monday the 28th) so I can put it back on the roof with the new roof protectors too. Then the headliner window gaskets and windows chrome locking strips go back in.
LOVE to do restorations it is so rewarding when it is finished.

I am going to the shop now to use PB Blaster and a propane tourch on the small set screws that hold the "collars" on the side rails (they do not want to turn, broke one small screwdriver tip off so far) , and to drill out (grind off) the pins on the rear that should release the backside rail. Once that is removed and the collars are loosened they should slide off.
Having never done this before I hope I am guessing correctly
