LOVE to do restorations it is so rewarding when it is finished.

I am going to the shop now to use PB Blaster and a propane tourch on the small set screws that hold the "collars" on the side rails (they do not want to turn, broke one small screwdriver tip off so far) , and to drill out (grind off) the pins on the rear that should release the backside rail. Once that is removed and the collars are loosened they should slide off.
Having never done this before I hope I am guessing correctly
The Kadett roof rack comes off the car by removing the headliner. The ones for the Ascona Wagons bolt on from the outside
