I didn't have my spare clips, as I had cleaned the car and had not put them back, but, I did have some. spare hose clamps. Now, I know the hose clamps are not new, but, they got me home to my clips. But, when I was gathering up my clips, I had one of those clips from the brake lines nearby and an idea came to me. I took it out to the carr and sure enough, it fit and worked. This is the clip from either side of the front to each end off the flex line. Just thought if some one was broke down and just needed something to get them to a parts store or to a safe place, this is another emergency tip.

In working on Opels for 18 years, I have seen just about everything used to secure the clutch cable, hose clamps,, ba
ling wire,ball of duct tape,electrical wire, etc. The brake hose clip is a good idea, it is made from spring steel and is strong enough to stay there awhile. My handy-dandy fix (being a drag racer and not feeling secure unless I have a spare everything) is to clip a second e-clip in the groove in front of the one where you have you clutch adjustment set then if you have a failure of the first clip, the second one will hold the cable close enough to get you home.
