Yes, toss the plastic one. It's not designed for the higher FI pump pressure of flow capacity. The Wix filter is made for the Bosch systems. You also might want to replace the rubber hose sections back by the tank while you at it and have things apart.
The small hoses are not a problem. Just standard FI hose. The 5/8" dia pump suction hose is a bit of a problem since it's so short it will kink when installed.
Two solutions. Make a big loop in the hose so it doesn't kink or hit the exhaust pipe or use heater hose and place a coil spring in it to keep it from collapsing in a tight bend. I did the latter with a hardware store spring.
