IF the car has a newer style transmission with an internal switch for the backup light and it is leaking it will blow the fuse if the tranny is in/or when shifted into reverse. The style trans that originally came in your car is mounted on the left/dr. side of the trans and is external.

I can vouch for that
. My 71 GT kept blowing that fuse when I first got it until I figured out it was the backup light triggering the failure. I just disconnected the B.U. light switch until I was able to get a new one from OGTS.
