Ends up the tool wasn't needed, a small screwdriver and patience
got it all in. I couldn't figure out how to use the tool anyway. It
really finishes the look. The old stuff had turned a nice shade of
brown and came out a lot easier than the new stuff went in.
Only had one finishing clip so cut it in half to have a clip for
both front and rear.

Too late I guess, to use the tool you put the new strip through the triangle, then you push the tool into the rubber seal channel, as it opens up you push the strip in, sort of like a "ditch witch" is used to lay cable in the ground.
