Opelnut10 ..its an injection system so there aint no carb.
I'd say the old gas that sat in the injectors may have gummed them up. Fresh or clean plugs are barely good enough to keep it running. Once fouled or flooded with too much petrol they don't get the job done. There are injector cleaning kits that allow your car to run off pure cleaner to clean the injectors. Someone on the site explained how they cleaned theirs without any special equipment. I believe this is your problem.
