I use 1/4" nylon aquarium airline tubing also. It comes in 25 ft. bundles (enough for 2 cars) for a couple of dollars at Walmart. One tip is to warm up the ends and spread with a pair of needle nose pliers to flare them and make slipping on to the fittings easier. McMaster-Carr is going to cost you a lot more.
