Unanswered: Wiring a Bosch Starter Protector

I recently got one of the Bosch starter protector devices ( I don't even know the technical name of the thing!) It came with a wiring diagram that makes virtually no sense to me. I know I have seen these in ads and ebay many times.

Can someone please tell me in english where the Red, Black, Yellow, Blue, White wires hook to so I don't blow up the car trying to decipher the one sentence diagram it came with?

I would very much appreciate it!

Rick, here's the Ottostart instructions, http://www.opelgt.com/forums/44602-post1.html. If you can scan or post the instructions, there's enough electrical people here, someone can decipher it. It sounds like the Radio Shack Relay in the thread here, http://www.opelgt.com/forums/1a-star...io+shack+relay HTH, Jarrell

I am an idiot when it comes to electricity but it only took me about 7 minutes to install my Ottostart and most of the time was determining where to mount the relay. To steal a quote " It's so simple even a caveman can do it"- Apologies to Geico

Wiring relay

Thanks guys. I have to admit this is still confusing. The pictures really helped but only four of the five plugs are identified. The center plug (87a) is not shown. I tried to scan and upload what I have but the file is to big. What I have is the radio shack plug, it's a Bosch 12v 20/30a.
On the bottom where the plugs stick out, are numbered:

86
30
85
87
87a

I have a wiring harness that plugs directly onto these plugs The wires go to the following:
Black - 86
White - 30
Blue - 85
Red - 87
Yellow - 87a

The pictures showed the same module that I have except it did not have the wiring harness.

Sorry I could not get a diagram to upload. I hope this helps someone make heads or tails for me. I to am electrically challenged and prefer not to take chances on doing the wrong thing.

According to my bosch relay dircuit, here's what each pin does and what my color codes are. But the color codes don't mean anything because they can be switched in the plug.

pin 30 12 volt source in (Blue) From the battery post on the starter solenoid
pin 85 relay actuator ground (Black) Ground this wire with the self-tapping screw that mounts the relay
pin 86 relay trigger signal (White) Use the spade lug wire on the solenoid from the ignition switch here
pin 87 Normally open,(Red) use this wire to replace the one that you took off the solenoid spade lug
Pin 87a Normally closed, (Yellow) not used in this application.

Just remembered, there are two spade lugs on the starter solenoid, use the one that does not go to the coil.
HTH.

PERFECT. That makes sense to me. I appreciate you clarifying this for me and my electrically challenged simple brain.
