Try putting some glue [the kind that sticks your fingers together in seconds], but not too much, on the broken of piece and stick it on the piece that's still in the ignition, let it dry and gently pul out the key.

Broken key
It happend to me one time, but that was my Ascona B. My GT do not have the original ignition lock, so I don`t know if it`s the same, but I had to change the ignition lock. Tried everything I could think of to get the rest of the key out, but it was impossible.

Been there ...
I used a couple of engineer's scribers like chop sticks to grip one each side of the bit of key left in the lock. Had my Best Lady standing by with a pair of very fine needle nose pliers to grab it as soon as I managed to coax it out far enough. It is only the pressure of the sprung bails engaged in the cuts on the key that holds it in there - not very much.
Even a pair of scalpels or hobby knives with thin pointed blades would do the job. Patience is the KEY

Drill ??
Another way is to drill a tiny hole into the end of the part of the key still in the lock with a fuel jet drill. Do it by hand - there are little kits of tiny fuel jet drills, complete with a hand chuck to hold them, available from most automotive stores or tool bars.
The key is made of brass so is easy to drill. Once you have a tiny hole then a small, self-tapping screw can be used to hook the broken bit out. What ever you do use LOTS of care - the LAST thing you want is more bits of metal broken off inside the lock. HTH
