Lightbulb Unanswered: Starters used on CIH engines

Did Opel use the same starters [Bosch or AC Delco] on all of the CIH engines, or did they use starters with more power on the engines with a higher cc volume??
I have a Bosch starter [from a 1.6 S] and it reads 0.8 PS [0.5kW], and a AC Delco [from a 2.2 E], but I can't see anything on it concerning its power.

I think the 1.9/2.0/2.2 starters are all nearly the same power rating (either Bosch or Delco). The 2.4 starter is much more powerful, and half the weight. It is also expensive and hard to find. The 3.0 6-cylinder starter is also more powerful, I think even more than the 2.4 starter.

I'm not entirely sure on this one but i think the higher cc engine starter motors do have a greater cranking capacity. I have a 1.9starter currently trying to spin my 2.4 into life and it's not great, so I'm thinking of upgrading to a 3.0 (6 pot) starter.

Only a Few ...

All the starters for 1.5 - 2.2 have the same part number at one of the Opel surplus dealers on EBay.de
The 2.4 has a more powerful - but smaller one as Bob says - and the six-cylinder CIH motors use an even more powerful one which is a similar diameter and bolt pattern but nearly half as long again.
There is also a reduction geared starter for the Opel diesel motor which is reputed to bolt on and be the most powerful of all.
