Unanswered: Dist. wires to plugs

I am chasing a "won't fire" situation. I am double checking everything and ran across an old post from Rallybob that stated:

Okay, a quick rundown to make sure you're connected right.

Coil wire #1 goes to spark plug #1
Col wire #4 goes to spark plug #3
Coil wire #3 goes to spark plug #4
Coil wire #2 goes to spark plug #2

I guess I don't understand why #4 goes to plug 3, and #3 goes to plug 4.
any help with verification would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Wes

Sure you didn't mean disti cap wires? . . . second row of numbers is engine firing order, 1-3-4-2

Wes the post you saw is not for the dist. base Opel but for the DIS sys. using two coil packs ( this unit is for VW and the change is for the Opel firing order) .Which
sys. do you need info. for ? HTH John

I'm looking for arrangement of dist. wires to spark plugs for 1.9L c.i.h. with pertronics.

I presently have:

ball and pointer lined up
rotor pointing to #1 on dizzy @ 4 o'clock
both rockers loose on cyl.#1

In firing order on dizzy:
#1 on diz to #1 cyl.
#3 on diz to #3 cyl.
#4on diz to#4 cyl.
#2 on diz to #2 cyl.

New Bosch W7BC plugs @ .040

So, I hope I have it all straight. That post threw me. I must have skimmed over the part where it said VW

Thanks,
Wes

Looks good from here . The tipoff on that post was the use of calling all the plugwires ( coil wires ) . Good luck on your car . Your car should start with what you have posted and you have good ing. spark and clean fuel . John

Yeah, you ONLY need those directions if using the DIS-IX ignition system (click image below), originally used on VW engines.

Everything's correct for your Pertronix triggered, single coil Opel ignition.

I may of course have misunderstood something here, but shouldn`t it be like this to get the correct firing order 1 3 4 2?

OK, So I'm polling the MOB for answers. Just when I thought that I was straight, the last reply has me at a loss. What is the order, clockwise, on the dizzy from #1 @ 4 o'clock on around? Let's put this to bed so I can start this GT!
Thanks for the input,
Wes

Sorry if it was a little confusing. I removed the numbers on the dizzy now. Maybe that makes it a little clearer.
The firing order is 1 3 4 2.

Exclamation Correct Pertronix installation . . .

Since you mentioned you're using a Pertronix trigger for your otherwise "stock" ignition, you may want to verify that the Pertronix itself is hooked up correctly while you're at it.
