First, check the connections at the 4 studs in the center of the fuse panel, those are your main power sources. Then a couple of things to check when this happens. First do your gauges also go dead. If so, it could be the ignition switch or wiring from the fuse panel through the steering column connectors causing the problem. If the gauges do not go dead, then start at the transparent wire to the coil and work back to the fuse panel, then from the coil to the distributor, not forgetting the condenser mounted on the outside of the distributor. If it is loosely mounted, it could cause the intermittent ignition on/off. HTH.
