Dist.cap
Most of those "clear" caps are made out of cheap material and have contacts made out of aluminum instead of brass. The best cap money can buy is a good old heavy duty Bosch along with a Bosch rotor. Most European Car Makers have relied on Bosch for years and years and you will be hard pressed to find anything better (IMHO)

I havent bought one of the transparent caps yet, but I have bought other parts from the seller. My experience with the seller has been pleasant, and he's got a near perfect feedback rating. I've been eyeing those caps for awhile now, and I have the same question of quality as you. I may go ahead and buy one to try, and if the quality doesnt meet my approval than I'm only out a same amont of money,

Clear Dist. Caps
Yes, I use the clear Dist. Caps I like how they look on my show car, and at night you can see the the sparks jump. I change them once a year. The contacts on mine are made of brass instead of copper. I have been buying them for years from a place in
Calif. for $4.95 ea. I usually buy a bunch at a time. The link for this one is: https://jbugs.hostasaurus.com This is a VW parts Dist. use same Bosch Caps as Opels California Pacific JBuGs The part numbers # Clear #8790, Smoke #8794, Red #8791 and there a Amber one too. Good Service too. Good Luck Mike

The caps on that site look identical to the caps being sold on ebay.

Why bid when you can buy?
I think there the same cap, Why bid when you can buy. I been using them since 2005 w/ brass contacts, the materal holds up ok not as strong as the Bosch caps though, but I like the look. Give one a try.
Mike

IIRC, quality caps are molded out of dielectric material. Before buying,
I'd make sure the clear plastic is dielectric.

The transparent caps work okay, but won't last as long as a Bosch or Standard Ignition cap.
Oh, and if you have a Crane/Allison XR-700 or XR-3000, then don't use the transparent caps. Opening the hood during the day will allow sunlight to confuse the optical trigger, and the engine will stall out! Bob
