Unanswered: Which Compu-fire model for GT

Looking to install Compu-fire ign. on the GT. Found one on Ebay that is the 0900. Is that the correct one for GT? Please advise!
Thanks,
Wes

Dumb question...

I have a petronix setup in place of the points. Does this kit use the existing Pertronix or does this come out and a new module installed in its place?

Mark;
From what I have seen, you eliminate the distrbutor all together, in the way of points or Pertronix. You have to keep the distributor (housing and shaft wise) to run he oil and fuel pump (if you're still using the stock mechanical fuel pump)

If you go this route, take lots of pictures on how you do it.

You use the existing distributor. Replace the points and rotor with their trigger and a flat cover for the distributor (no more dist. cap) The coil pack mounts on the fender well. Sequence the wires as the VW firing order is different and it's good to go.
