Do you know the coil is bad? Points or electronic ignition system? Have you checked to make sure you are getting voltage to the coil with the ignition switch on?

You got a test light?
If so remove the green wire from the coil turn the key on and you should have a glowing test light on your hands with the probe touching the negative side of the coil...if not try the test light on the positive side of the same coil what happened? Remove the B+ wire from the coil and probe the wire still no glowing of the test light the most probably cause is a bad ignition switch.... Man I Hate test lights ..they'll get you into trouble if your not careful. |

Does your coil look old enough to be original?
If so, this might be an opportune time to re-hab your entire ignition system to make it reliable for the next decade. To answer your original question; call Opel GT Source. A new coil will arrive at your door very quickly. |

I have both a Excel super coil and an almost new Bosch Blue coil sitting in a box in my shop. Let me know if your coil is bad and you want an upgrade.
