    LightbulbBosch External Resistance Coil Install Instructions/Diagrams, 10/74 . . .

. . . just found tucked inside my original 1973 FSM which I was given sometime in 1976 by my local Plano friend who was Service Manager at Don Snell Buick/Opel in Dallas.

This should clear up any misunderstanding about proper wiring of an external resistance coil like all variations used with our Opel engines, OHV-1.1 or CIH-1.5/1.9 . . . in five languages, no less!

    Front with instructions:

Rear with instructions and wiring diagrams . . . first diagram depicts stock Opel usage though Opel uses a clear resistive wire rather than the physical resistor pictured. The Kl 16 terminal shown is the starter-solenoid, 12V-direct, bypass-switch-terminal located closest to the engine and opposite its "Start" terminal.

I guess that this is using the 1.2-1.3 ohm brown top coil?
Adding the resistance up with the brown top primary and the ballast comes
    right at 3.0 ohms.
So the current flow should be around four plus amps.
Enough or should I say less enough for the primary windings not to overheat.

. . . that is using ANY of the '68-'75 Opel models' coils, as indicated in my first post . . . and illustrated by the three rightmost coils shown below:
