    Our new distributors

    Hello All!

As I stated before, the guys decided to give me a little present to cheer me up during this down time, a nice and polished aluminum distributor housing with an engraved top cover. The housing and cover will be available shortly at the store and you can use it in two different formats:

    1) You can transfer the internal mechanical components from the old Bosch housing to the new one, and
    2) You can order it with either one of the SS wasted spark units we have for sale and use our new engraved top cover.
    3) Buy a plug and play unit of any combination above.

We will also have a polished distributor delete plug for those of you that want an EDIS system on your engine. This will be a replacement housing for Bosch 009 distributors, available in other configurations and not limited to the Opel brand.

    Stay tuned for further details.

    It is getting better...

    Hello All!

A tool I was waiting for came in today and the guys did not waste any time in putting it to work. All I need now are the trigger wheels to show up and we is good to go.

    Sweet as can be!

    A little more

We have a plan for the distributor body to add a twin screw mount for the cover. Currently, the body is about 5/8" taller than it needs to be. It is also 3mm thick which is OK to dissipate heat.

Not sure how to proceed on this one since all of the ideas are good

    Modified top cover

Well, the modified top cover did not work as planned, the shaft hits the top of it and it will not close properly. I'll work on it tomorrow and try to resolve the fitment problem.

That was only one of the two mishaps we had today. It seems we had imported a drawing that Charles made into the CNC plot memory and we used mirror mode to make side by side parts. We also forgot to place the operation in alternating mode so two parts would get done at one time. Guess what, the mode works just fine and all the parts made are backwards just like mirror copies of themselves.

Got on my car and went home..

    Learning the ropes....

After a session with the online manual of the CNC, we got all of the quirks figured out and the new distributor went into test mode.

We are looking at two possible scenarios, the first is to re-use the parts from an old distributor and build the new body. The second scenario is to use all new parts and not depend on cores. We are evaluating both positions and should be deciding very soon.

Our website will have all details as they develop.
