Unanswered: Dying Lenses

Does anyone know how to dye or coat the signal lenses? I have 2 sets and between them I have 1 good set but one of those have been sunbleached. I was thinking about melting some gel-filters that go on stage can lights with a heat-gun of blowdryer.

Faded lenses

Krylon stained glass paint. Hard to find. I ordered online from Ace Hardware's web site. Maybe an arts & crafts store would carry it.

For the time and effort required....why not splash out on a set of repro's from OGTS....you will probably be happier in the long term....

Lightbulb Transparent model paint

Revell has paint in the collours transparent red and orange, should be good to [spray] paint the lenses
