Dead Running Light

The amber colored round lens on the drivers side under my bumper in the grill. The turn signal works fine, the running light doesn't work at all. I replaced the bulb, I even tried swapping out the bulb housing from one side to another. I tried a volt meter and couldnt' get consistant read out from drivers side and passenger side.

There is a grey? dual wire to the top of the bulb housing, and a black single wire to the bottom of the housing, and the brown ground wire attached to the side.

I searched posting but couldn't find a specific answer. Any ideas?

Neil, the Gray/Black dual wire goes to the curved amber light above the bumper and to fuse #3, the Black/White wire is for the turn signal and goes to the left turn signals, the Brown wire grounds the light assembly at a screw outboard of the master cylinder, forward of the radiator support. I'd check that wire first. It could be loose or loaded with corrosion. HTH.

Thanks Ron, I'll check where the ground wire attached near the master cylinder and radiator. It's quite possible with rust, along with recent master cylinder leakage that the ground isn't working well. But wouldn't that affect the turn signal blinking too?

Not necessarily, the turn lights are each grounded separately so the front light could get its ground through another light, kinda like when folks add another light to the turn signals the lights will flash alternately. HTH.
