Unanswered: Attaching new rear side markers

I just got a "new" set of rear side markers from OGTS and I'm wondering how they attach to the light brackets? On the original (and the replacement) there are 4 plastic tabs, it appears to me that these are melted on the originals. How do you attach the new? Something like supper glue? I will call and see what they suggest but I wondered what others have done.

I drilled a small "dimple" in the end of a metal rod, then heated the rod with a torch and while the metal was hot melted the plastic like the factory did. The dimple kept the plastic tab centered while being melted.

I did the same thing as trlmr.
I took an aluminum rod about 3/8 dia x 3" long.
Drill a hole or mahine a concave arc to match original.
Heat with a propane torch and melt until it holds original bracket.
Practice on your old lights first, to get proper temp and technique.
