Answered: Need 6V Light Bulbs for 64 Kadett A

Where can I get the bulbs for all the lights in my 64 Kadett A. I'm going to call my buddy Gil at Opel GT Source tommorrow but would love to find them locally if anyone knows of any chains that sell them. Thanks.

6V bulbs are available at local autopartsstores giventhenumbers. i have several OEM new bulbs, wouldneed to know what ones you needed, but they should have a replacement available at a store that carries older car parts and supplies. Autozones will be limited

I have my service manual with the part #s in it but don't think they cross to any #s now.

I pretty much need every bulb in the car like I said because they fall apart when I remove them but right now I'm concentrating on the exterior bulbs. I've resoldered a few of the bulbs which work back together (the end to the glass that is) but it takes a long time adn would like to replace them and keep these refurbished ones as spares.

The part #s I suppose that I'm specifically looking for from my service manual are

N-15610 (4 qty)
N-48080 (6 qty)
N-15600 (2 qty)

I believe that covers what's not working at the moment.

Thanks for the help I really appreciate it.

I will check those part numbers tonight, also you can take the bulb to the part store and they can match them up with a more common part number. OEM had there part number, but manufacturers have standard numbers like
94 1107 53 ect.

I've been to every local parts house and they acted like I'm a moron when I try to ask for these things. I take my factory part #s that does no good, then they try to do application, that's a waste of time. What the heck to you do if you have an early odd ball car like this guess buy online but I hate that cause I can't see and touch what I"m buying to make sure it's right. I'll have to call my Opel guys I guess and hope they have something or continue soldering.

I did a quick google search and came up with this site: Automotive Light Bulbs and Light Bulb Sockets

You may be able to get the common number from there. I was able to pick up all the 6 volt bulbs I needed for my '51 and '59 at an automotive swap meet.

I checked, all my bulbs are 12V, and I went through a bunch. Take out one of each bulb you need, and take it down to a part store other than the place that services quick oil change places. They will have the bulbs, they just cannot go by an Opel part number. I have a 60 Model in my shop I could try to pull some bulbs and give you a standard number maybe

Hey Joe-

I have some NOS 6v bulbs with original part numbers. I'll dig them out tomorrow and see if they match what you need.

Joe-

I find that I have 7 OSRAM bulbs. Part number 2098225 (factory parts manual and on the OPEL label on thepackage). 6 volt, 3 watt.
The OSRAM part number is 6427 6v 3w (for future reference).

The book shows them to be for the 64-65 Kadett:

License plate lamp
Front parking lamp
Directional signals

I would imagine they are available thru a vintage VW or M-B parts dealer.

I have no use for the 6v bulbs, so if you pay for shipping, they are yours. I also have other NOS Kadett A parts.
Send me a pm.
