Answered: Fuse Pic/Diagram?
The Factory Service Manual link is not opening in the Opel Tech Center, and I'm trying to troubleshoot my front driver's side turn signal not working. I've tested the bulb, the socket, and the wiring. The wiring doesn't seem to give a consistant read out. I looked at my fuses and non of them looked burned out, but I'm sure it would be good to replace them anyway. |

I scanned this page from the 1972 FSM. I think you can ignore the x'ed out 5 amp fuse replaced with an 8. The 5 is correct I believe even though the part number listed is for the 8 amp fuse?!? Yet another FSM typo (along with the wrong year being mentioned in the first paragraph (1971 instead of 1972). HTH Matt |

There was a link to the FSM electrical schematic that was a PDF file last week, in full color and with the gauge wire sizes. I did a search but couldn't find it. You might have better luck.

If the PO used larger fuses (higher Amp numbers), usually means it blew the regular size fuse, due to an electrical defect.
Using a stronger fuse is actually pretty dangerous, as you don't fix the problem. You are allowing much more electricity to flow through the wires and all other components than what they are made for - fire danger !!! Dieter (2) |

GT Fuses
Here is another list from AutoBooks Opel GT W/shop Manual:
Note that the lights and rear window heater are seperately fused by fuses located on the relays that control them.

The FSM is broken down by chapters in the Downloads section. I need to fix that link on the front page.

Yes I've noticed those inconsistancies in 5 & 8 amp fuses for fuse number 1.
At least I know now that the previous owner had stuck a bunch of 12, 15, & 25 amp fuses in there that I need to replace soon! |

Fuses #1 & #3
Notice that these two fuses are for higher current electric motors plus the horn and cigar lighter which probably do need the 8 amp fuses ( could even use 10 amp fuses there if eights were not available ...). All the other fuses are for lights or relays of various uses so only need 5 amp fuses.
