Don't have pics, but there is a copper ring mounted under the horn button that contacts a plunger and spring. When you press on the button the copper ring makes contact with ground through the steering shaft and the horn goes off. The copper ring is insulated by plastic sleeves that the mounting screws go through. HTH.

Question

ok I have everything but the plunger and spring. I have three screws with springs and the copper ring but there is no plunger and spring contacting the copper ring connecting it to the inner ring. Can I make one on the laith? Does anyone have a pic of the plunger and spring that i can use to design a new one? Or can i take one from a different car?

What stops the plunger from grounding on the side of the hole it goes in. Is there a plastic tube it goes in? (to stop it from gounding)

YES, the plunger is inside a plastic sleeve, along with a compression spring.

Exclamation

ok well I made the plunger and it worked fine for about one honk then stoped. Its not the horn button anymore (I think) its the horns all there is, is a clicking sound coming out of the horn like something is jammed. I know that it not the button because I used a peice of wire to ground the horn and it did the same noise. Can the horn be taken apain and cleaned, or is it a solid unit? sould I spray the inside with wd40?

There is an adjustment screw/bolt on them. But yes they can also be taken apart even though they are riveted together. It is a really simple mechanism. The adjustment screw is for tone adjustment and you might try that first.

Cool

finally got the horn working took them right out of the car and drilled out the rivets. the inside mechanisms must have been totally seized because I used some WD40 on it then taped the residue out and rivetted it back together and they work fine
