Unanswered: New Clock
I tried replacing my clock with an atomic digital unit, and it worked OK, but in bright sunlight it was faded out, you couldn't see it at all at night, and it was not quite at the right angle. Other than that it was perfect. Here's a pic:![]() It just didn't fit the "Style" of the other gauges. So I bought a battery clock on EBAY and modified it to fit in the original clock case. Once I got the "guts" out, I was able to use Epoxy to attach the Opel face. I had to paint the hands, and I used RTV to secure it inside the case, since I will be replacing the battery every other year or so. I might actually make a board to run it off the car battery if it lasts. I will also have to address the issue of lighting balance, But I was going to instal additional lights in ALL the gauges anyways to brighten it up. Here's a pic of the EBAY clock, and what I did: ![]() ![]() OH, and here's a link to the EBAY ad: White Face Arabic Numerals quartz Fit Up 2 3/4" - eBay (item 120350417533 end time Nov-09-09 19:30:00 PST) Last edited by LASERMAN; 2 Weeks Ago at 07:51 PM. |
