Differences between '07 Opel GT and Sky?
Also, I wonder if the seats from a new Opel GT would fit into my '73? They look sweet, and it'd sure be nice to have modern seats and keep them true to the Opel name. Randy |

Check with Mach1Tom on the seats. His orange GT had black leather Solstice seats in it at the 2006 Route 66 Festival in Springfield. Very cool look and modern comfort!

I've only done a cursory glance at the spec sheets, but it appears that the Solstice GXP, Saturn Sky Red Line, and Opel GT are all the same from a performance perspective. They all have the 260HP 2.0L Ecotec 4 cylinder engine with turbo. Of course, all are also built on the Kappa platform. So, to answer your question, as far as I can tell, the only difference between the Sky Red Line and the Opel GT is badging and maybe some cosmetic differences on the interior.
BTW, I test drove a Solstice GXP today just for fun and man does the turbo improve the acceleration over my NA Solstice. I expected that but not to the degree that I experienced. I hit the rev limiter and squealed the tires without even trying.

Many Differences: Info will arrive soon
There are many, subtle, differences to distinguish the
new Opel GT from the Saturn Sky. An extensive list, and an "Opel GT" Spotters Guide, will be released in an upcoming OMC Blitz issue. |

Oh ya, Dennis? How would you know? Must have been awesome to be so close to them. Wish I could have been there. Did Gil bring his monster down, or just Patty's? Saw yours in the pictures. Was Opel's top brass impressed?

Too Much to Describe
Right now, we're trying to organize the hundreds of
photos taken, with other materials given to us, into some kind of narrative. This will probably take a few days to accomplish. This event was a success on every level (in fact, will become legendary in its own right), and will result in benefits to every Opel enthusiast for many years to come. |
