make sure that you prep the under body real well before you apply it if you dont it will just peel off in time. One saying i always remember "paint doesnt stick to slick s***"

Underseal
Both paint manufacturers advertise that they can be painted on "over rust" but a good cleanup of loose stuff is always advisable. A couple of coats covered with a good thick, rubberised Underseal is useful in the wheel wells to keep down stone damage. Both types of paint mentioned do benefit from something covering them under the car.

Conrad, you can check out my Willit? Update thread, there are pics of before and after using POR-15 paints on the interior and bottom of the car. I will tell you that just like they say, the basic rust covering paints will fade when exposed to UV (sun) rays. On my GT I used their Marine Clean, full strength, all over, then vapor blasted it with my K'Archer unit. After my car got back from the body shop and all the rust was removed, I used a 1/2" brush and painted the wheels wells with their gloss black paint. Here's a warning, use gloves, if the paint gets on your skin and dries, it will not come off until the skin under it flakes away. Oh yeah, I painted over the undercoat in the wheels wells, they were in really good shape as far as no rust, it was just a cosmetic thing to make them look newly painted, like the rest of the car. HTH.

I did the underside of my 72 the way Ron was speaking about with POR-15. In my opinion a great product. I used it all over the underside, engine bay, front and rear suspension. I then sprayed rubberized undercoating on the underside and wheel wells. I found this product (Road Warrior) http://www.buyroadwarrior.com/HomePage.html
and am thinking about using it for the undercoating on my 73. My neighbor recently purchased a fertilizer/lime truck and used Eastwoods product on the frame. If you've never seen what fertilizer will do to steel in terms of rust, it will eat through it in time. He sandblasted the frame and painted it with Eastwoods Magnent Paint Chassis saver. I was very impressed with the results. Both POR-15 and Eastwood seem to offer good products. Just a question of which you prefer. Hth, Jarrell

Jarrell,
Just a classification. I'm pretty sure the chassis paint from Eastwood is not Magnet Paint. I too have heard the Eastwood product is EXCELLENT, like POR-15. I used the Magnet Paint Chassis Saver on a sandblasted frame a few years ago and it has really held up well. LOTS of good products for this purpose now it seems! Todd

I stand corrected Todd. They used the Magnet Paint Chassis Saver. I got them a catalog from the site listed on the Review Site here. Jarrell
