Need help taking apart doors

I've looked (searched) but have been unable to find anything here on taking apart GT doors. Is there any way to remove the inner metal skin (without a torch or plasma cutter - but only preferably

) Has anyone done one (if a torch is necessary)?

If you need the inner skin off a GT door you'll have to cut it out, no other way to do it.

Ron is right but you can use electric or pneumatic double-cut shears or nibblers in order not to introduce heat to your project. Or an abrasive cutting wheel on a die grinder, side grinder or skill saw. Jig saw or even a sawzall works too.

Yup, they work awesome!

Just be sure to remove the glass from the door first! It will pit like crazy otherwise.

I don't really need to, but I was looking at the plans for putting in power windows, and it looked like it would go much more easily if that inner skin was removable. In addition, I would like to be able to cover the inside of the outer skin with sound insulation (Duramat). Plus, I'm in the process of gutting a rust bucket GT, I got the door off, and kinda just wanted to know.

Can't imagine that it would be faster to remove and reinstall the inner door panel then it would be to just install the electric window mechanisms with the door in its original state.
