Has anyone tried chrome plastic moulding?

Narrow Auto Moldings Stylish Look, Great Prices, AutoAmenity.com

I was wondering if the plastic would bend.

Careful application of heat from either the GF's hairdryer or a heat gun allows you to bend it and it will hold the bend when it cools. This also works when you are fighting with the replacement chrome window channel trim...

I'm wondering if it could be used to replace the plasic chrome trim around the front turn signals and grill openings. I've tried to find something close to original but no success as yet.

I've used 3M's 1/4" Custom Chrome in the front and rear window channels with very nice results. Pep Boys carries it (at least they did a year ago) and a 20 ft package was enough to do both windows. It was only $11.99. Package states that it can be used for interior/exterior trim, around body lines, door panels, headlighs, etc. The 1/4 inch molding is very flexible. I didn't even need to heat it up. It has a tape backing that will hold it in place. If tried the wider stuff (3/8") and found it difficult if not impossible to get into the channels. Jerry

There is a company called Trim Lok - #1 Source for Plastic and Rubber Trims and Seals and they have thousands and thousands of different trim and moulding and anything mylar or plastic you can imagine, they will also make things custom to your design and dimensions (you have to buy nearly a mile of the stuff though) I have been meaning to (for a couple years) place an order with them as I still don't have front or rear locking strips on my GT.

Well, I'm surprised that strip would hold a windshield very well. But, now that I think about it, I guess that's why they call it a locking strip. I just thought it was for looks. Now I'm glad I actually used two types of sealants when I installed the glass. One between the rubber to the body, and, one between the rubber and the glass. Both non hardening so there won't be any leaks. And, I don't think mine would be going anywere. I know a lot of guys just remove the blackened old strip and have gone without it. Has anyone every lost a windshield or rear glass because of this ? Jerry
