Unanswered: Door Hinge Grease Fittings
Was this on all GT hinges or unique to my GT from a previous owner? I had no idea they were there. It certainly makes since for them to be there. You can bet I will squirt some grease in there. I learn something new every time I work on a Opel!

Roy, I know Willit? has them and my 71 GT, I can't say about the 73 or earlier than 71. If I'd known to check, I could have looked at Paul Heebink's 73, he spent the night here with electrical problems, but heading back to Yuma already.

My 1970 has em....good thing too. I cant remember but....there may be a diagram somwhere in the FSM that shows all the zerk fittings????
Good to push all that 30+ year old grease outta there and get some good high quality lithium in there. Just be sure to wipe all that old gunk off or it'll wind up all over the car in hot weather!! Joe

I have four sets and they all have them too. The pins have grease grooves cut into them as well. When rebuilding my hinges recently I noticed that several of the welds between the pin and the bracket were broken. This is a result of the pin seizing in the hinge, then when you open the door the pin tries to rotate within the bracket and the weld snaps loose. You then have a situation where the bracket will wear an oblong hole and the door will droop. You can tell if you have this problem just by opening the door and peering in with a flashlight at the hinge pins. Rotate the door while watching the pin, if the pin rotates you have the problem, the pin should remain stationary.
