Exclamation Unanswered: Opening Problems

Yesterday after class I had closed the door on my opel GT to fing it would no longer open Is there some way I can open it without using the handle or door button?. Like pushing on something with a long screw driver. I have the inner door panel off partally, but cannot get the window handle off It almost seems that everytime I close the door it locks automaticals and will not unlock fully.

did the door handel button get stuck so it won't come out or something else? the only thing i could think of doing would be to try to unbolt the door latch from the inside of the car door? any other ideas?

You need to buy a tool that pushes the clip out. You can do it with a screw driver but the tool makes it easier.

In a pinch, I've used a shop rag... just slip it between the crank handle and the plastic protector(if its still installed). If you do it right the rag will catch the ends of the clip and pop it out.....

well its no the button or the handle, they seem to be still attatched and working, but the lock isnt fully pulling up. I'll try the rag and screw driver, dont want to wait for expensive tool, thanks for the help, I'll report back after school on the progress

The tool is just a few bucks in the "Help" tools section at Western Auto or Pep Boys. I still use a long skinny screwdriver but sometimes it take a long while poke out that circlip.

With the GT I am currently working on, I think I had both window crank handles off in about 2 minutes flat.. using a screw driver LOL. I've taken off so many, it's amazing how quick I can get everything off..
