Rick, you just pry it out, there's a couple of tangs in the front and rear edges that hold it in. You could use a hair dryer to warm up the plastic, to make it a bit more supple, if you thnk it's too brittle. HTH.

Thanx Harold, the screws for the chrome bezel are under the plastic insert. I thought that's what he was referring to, when he said plastic, the chrome bezel sure isn't plastic. Must be a symantics thing.

Took a closer look and saw the tabs on the plastic. From there it was quite easy to pop out the plastic insert to get to the screw holding the bezel. I thought the chrome was just shiny covering over the plastic. I would have busted the plastic for sure.
Ron, Harold, you both right about the "Chrome" bezel. I think the proper name for it is "Shiny Pot Metal" Rick |

The inside door latch has three parts. You must first remove the plastic insert to get to the screws. Then the guts of the latch will be exposed and you will be able to work on them.
