I thought all '73s got black carpet with a black interior. I've never seen anything different for '73. Earlier models got red, white(buckskin) and camel colors. Some with matching dash pads and carpets.

I also own a '73 Rallye Gold Opel GT. The factory interior color is referred to as "beige" in the sales liturature, if i recall correctly. In reality it would more accurately be described as tan in color and practically the whole interior was that tan color including the dash pad (but not the instrument panel which was always black in every GT made). I purchased a replacement carpet kit from OGTS about a year ago (haven't installed it yet). The OGTS carpet was the correct color match for the original and was the correct loop style as the original as well. However it did deviate from the original carpet in that the vinyl trim used in the kit (sewn on to some of the edges) was black vinyl instead of the correct "beige" (tan) colored vinyl of the factory original.
BTW, the rallye gold GT's of '71 & '72 used black carpet kits with "buckskin" (off- white) colored seats, headliner, door trim etc, with a black dash pad. Jonzo

Original or not
The GT's carpet is pretty easy to reproduce for an upholstery shop. Even back in the days it may have been changed out. An easy way I can tell is the main carpet mats were secured by use of a special grommet that was in each corner, and a hole was in the carpet with I belive a plastic bezel. The pieces were attached via a screw into the floorboard. The carpet behind the seat was the same way. You could have carpet made to match the gold if you wish though
