Manta Windshield

I heard someone say that the Manta windshield was identical to a chevy product, the Vega, Monza, Chevette or ?. Does anyone know which it is? The comment was that GM did not want Opel owners knowing there was a cheaper US part that could be used so the Opel part and the Chevy part had diffierent numbers.

That's the first time I'm hearing about that myth. I highly doubt it.

The closest you'll come to that analogy is the fact that some people found that the 1975-1976 Chevette front windshield rubber gasket (now discontinued BTW) could be stretched over an Ascona front windshield and used in the Ascona. But the glass itself doesn't fit.
