Unanswered: GT Door Sill Trim

Planing on ordering new carpet and noticed that my GT has no door sills, to hold the carpet along the bottom of the doors. It has a small rubber trim peice that runs along the seam. Is that all thats there. If so what holds the carpet.

Joe;
There's supposed to be a stainless steel strip that screws down over the edge of the carpet to hold it in place.

In the picture above, you can see the rubber strip you refer to, but, also see the stainless steel strip I'm referring to that goes over top of it and holds the edge of the carpet.

There's a stamped stainless steel plate that goes over the rubber seal and carpet edge. It look s like half a tube with a flange and is held in with 7 sheet metal screws. HTH.

GT has metal door sills to secure the ends of the carpet.

Discussion regarding GT door sills:

Reproduction of GT door sills in on everybody's wish list. I ordered extra door sills pair on eBay, but they were as dented as what I already have. There is a east coast metal restorter that had repaired/ restored door sills. Somebody can provide the name of the shop.

Nu-chrome in Fall River, MA restored then polished my stainless steel sills. Although they did a good job on mine, I am hesitant to recommend them for plating or restoration of aluminum trim as a couple of members have had issues with their customer service in the past.
