Unanswered: seat puncher staple thingys

whats the easiest way to put the things in after reuphostery

If you are doing what I think you are doing, you have to locate the hole in the metal through the upholstery. Stretch the upholstery into place and use an awl to punch a small hole in the fabric you are holding in place. Then you sort of wiggle the keeper through the hole and into the metal hole. No special tool that I know of.

If you aren't securing upholstery fabric with that little keeper then disregard what I said.

First in 1981 is right, punch a hole first, then push into original bottom seat frame. Do not think the clip will be strong enough by itself to puncture the fabric. Also they make a wide jaw plier for pulling fabric, and you may need something similar to hold it taunt enough to even start the clips into the holes. I use metal welding visegrips sometimes for this.
