Unanswered: Recovered seats....finally

Here's my seats. The compufire may have helped
the wagon run a little better but these have to have
added at least 20 horsepower each.

Real sharp! Better check the calibration on that dyno. These look like +30 HP seats to me.

I don't know about that 30 hp thing, if those were in mine I think I see about 50 HP. Great Job.

Looking at them, at least 20 hp each on the butt dyno.

The only thing that would make these sweeter, is a set of the RecaroPhonic headrests. Nothing like having Shania Twain sigh in your ear

Nice work Gene. I don't usually like red interiors but this looks good.

Do a matching one for your office/desk chair so that even when you're not driving your Opel you can still be driving your Opel! Looks great!

Shania Twain you must be a COUNTRY BOY. Those seats look great, and I'll bet country music doesn't affect them a bit .

Those sure are some nice seats. I love two-tone interiors too.

Tried them on for size last night. They caress my bottom
like.....like.... hmm, let's just say they feel good. The
interior was done by a local here in Sacramento. A 4 foot
tall (short?) Laotian by the name of Yig. Tomorrow, shakedown
cruise up Cache Creek, over to Clear Lake, Ukiah, and
back down 101.

I've got to do something with my crappy seats.
Mind if I ask what this 4' Laotian charges?

good morning,
Did a fair amount of shopping around and he was
the cheapest, (strike that, most inexpensive)
Got both seats done for $500. The blitz emblem
was done at a local t-shirt shop. (set up fee
was $25, embroidry was about $9 each.) He's
got the emblem loaded now so no setup fee
will be needed any more. Thinking of getting
some golf shirts done with it. Yig is pretty quick,
but had to wait for the material I wanted.
(Heidi black, Heidi red) it was the closest to
soft leather looking as I could find. And once
the material showed up had to wait for the
embroider to get his act together. Worth the
wait plus I got quite a bit done on the wagon
during the wait. Bottom line on the interior -
door panels/kick panels $325, rear panels - $125,
carpet (couldn't be kitted, I pulled out the rear
seat, so had to carpet that area) - $425, seats,
(covered and embroidered) - $545. For a total
of $1420. Still have the headliner to do but this
one is fairly good shape for now. There you have
it.

Don.
Don, check out "Headliner Mart" in Keller, TX. He used to have an auction on Ebay regularly for GT headliners, but, I asked him if he had the other Opels. Going for broke, I specifically asked about the Ascona Wagon. He did indeed have the headliner pattern for it, and not only that, he had it in several colors and "textures". I bought a smooth tan that damn near matches the stock Opel tan. It was delivered for $128. I had it installed by a local shop for about $250 and it looks AWESOME!!!

excellent. Will probably go with white again, otherwise it'll look
like a cave in there.

These guys also do interiors for the opels. They do a cut a sew carpet, seat covers and head liners. I had them make up a set for my Studebaker Hawk. Just got done talking to them about the Opels. They have a great customer service dept. Prices a re listed on there website. Great selection of cloth types and colors. They will also use your own fabric if you wish to send it to them.
