Unanswered: Cracked GT windshield

Are there any new leads on windshields? I looked through the forums and it appears that Pilkington is the only manufacturer and their windshield does not fit without modification. After cracking my windshield from top to bottom I am ready to sell the car to someone else.

On that note, anyone want to buy a far from restored 1973 GT? :-)

Also recommend that you check with your dealer first then with insurance company. Either way it should be taken care of with little or no problem. Good luck.

I got a quote for a Ascona windshield from a glass shop a couple of weeks ago while having a chip repaired. I would think that there should a lot more GT glass around. Only thing they said was that there was no seals listed. I told them where they could get them (from Germany) and they said it would all be covered under my insurance. It does pay to have full coverage in these cases. The glass was $800.00 and I would expect another $150.00 for the seal cost. I have a $120.00 deductable for glass repair. That one item would pay the extra I pay for full coverage for 13 years!
