    Center Console Slots?

So, i'm looking at the handbrake console, and i noticed two slots in towards the rear...

It appears they may have been cut by a PO, but i can't say for sure...

If stock, what are these for?

They are original, but I still have no clue as to what their purpose is.

The seat belt receiver comes up through it mine. Makes them easier to locate rather than dislocating your arm searching for them when they have fallen under the seat.

Male part of shoulder belt inserts in the slot. There should be two rather large tabs attached to the rear to slide the longer shoulder belts with the female part over. Looks like the tabs are missing on yours. Only evidence that something had been there will be three holes. Tabs are usually broken. No tabs, I think, look better than broken tabs.

I use those slots for the male end of the seat belt for the lap belt. You insert them when you want to store your belts. On the rear of mine are two vertical pieces of plastic, that is where you store the female part of the two piece seat belt(shoulder belt section). Or is it the other way around? But you get the idea.
