Unanswered: Getting to a Headlight Bolt

I cannot get at 1 of the 4 (10 mm) bolts that hold the headlight bucket in place. It is covered by a swivel mechanism arm and has some super thin spring steel also getting in the way. I can only see a sliver of the bolt and I don't have a wrench that thin. When I turn the nut it just spins in place. Any tips?

is this on the bracket that bolts to the swivel part and to the bucket? if so i had the same problem with one of mine, i had to get a wrench in between the headlight bucket and the body of the car. i found that by turning the headlight some it made it easier to get to the nut on the back side. just be careful that you dont damage the car by flaking the paint off.

That's the right bolt, but the head of it doesn't stick past the swivel mechanism arm. And the more I rotate the bucket the more it dissapears. If patients is all I need then I'll keep on trying it tomorrow.

I remember the day when I filed down a 10mm wrench to get to those bolts. The easier way is to remove the entire headlight bucket by removing the 2 front axis 10mm bolts and the 3 10mm bolts behind the rear of the bucket. Two of the three are found hidden in the wheel well after you take the sheet metal hatch off. And the other is found behind the bucket in the engine compartment. Then you have to disconnect the rotator rod and the lamp wires.

There is a thread about the process in here:

headlight

I have found that the simplest way to remove the lights isto remove the pivot inthe front and then the three that hold the spring steal at the rotater then the three on the bracket in the back of the bucket
