Hi,
Found three of these in the box of headlight hardware... but what is it? Some kind of shim?

Thanks,

Shim?

Looks like fender or body shim, but have not seen one on GTs'.
Would be a good "stumper" for OMC Picnic if it is actually an Opel part.

Chief, "Would you belive?"

This car was in pieces (many pieces!!) when I bought it. These shims were in a small box with a bunch of headlight hardware - screws, the little plastic nuts the adjustments screws go into, etc.) so I assumed they were something to do with the headlights... the mystery continues!

If this came with a GT, the only things that are not welded togather are the doors and headlights, The headlights do not use anything that looks like that so they may have been used to shim the doors at the jamb to adjust them.

They aren't factory GT parts that I've EVER seen. They may have been used to shim the doors but shouldn't haven't been needed for that as the hinges can be adjusted at the door to body mount or in the door itself. If anything the GT doors are TOO adjustable. There are sooo many ways to get them out of adjustment and only one perfect adjustment.

OK, Thanks!
I guess I won't worry about them then. Now it's on to sorting through the other boxes and seeing what I have an excess of, and what is still lacking.

cheers,

jtb
