"Nobody",What about the ground for the lights to the left of the Brake Booster? If I remember correctly there were 2 or 3 grounds there. Wouldn't this be in Electrical Forums. Check out the wiring diagrams there too, opelgtboy70, Hth,Jarrell

what about shorted wiring? i just dug into my wiring mess and all the headlight wires were so brittle they couldn't be bent without all the casing cracking off, which would cause a short and therefore.... no headlights. also if theres anything you need to check and need something to compare it too i got all the wiring from the whole car stretched out on my pool table right behind me, i'll have a look for you... could come in handy

On the 69 and 70 all headlight switching is on the drivers side. The white lite indicates they aren't locked. It is an indicator of what needs to be looked at.
However the 2 cuircuits are seperate, not locked and headlights on. If the marker lights are coming on when they are rotated it is activating the light relay. Jarrell is right about the ground issue. If that is tight and good then look at the wiring or the relay. If it's the wiring it will kill the battery in short order and the smoke will point to the problem. |

The headlights are locking in place and the marker lights are coming on when I hit the light switch. Can someone check what wires that come out of the relay numbered 87 are hot when the headlights are on? By looking at the wiring diagram, the wires that are yellow/black and yellow/white should be hot.

There should be a total of 3 grds to the Chassis. They are located to the left of the brake booster. Take them out/off. It's a pain with the booster on, but it can be done. Take a small wire brush, clean them up and clean where they attach to the chassis. When I rebuilt/rewired the car this summer, I found those grounds were corroded. I rewired them, soldered the wires & connectors and ran a separate ground back across the front to a separate ground terminal connector. Probably overkill, but I spent 8 hrs trying to get taillights working correctly when I got the car and it turned out to be a D**mn ground. So I have separate grounds running from a central ground terminal connector from the front to the back and all grounds hook into it. Sorry so long winded, but the grounds on the Gt are not that good and it's the simple things that cause the most frustration. Jarrell
