Colors
There is a body tag on the cowl (wiper area) of the car that gives a color code, which can be decifered at a paint store. Unless your car is a rust free low mileage example, paint it whatever color you wish. Even if it were a rust free example, I don't know how much a change of color is going to matter. It looks to be Rallye Orange or Fireglow Orange, but does appear to posess a possible repaint years ago.

I think you said your's is a '73, paint code is probably as follows:
OPEL L529 SINGLE STAGE FIRE GLOW 1971 - 1973 Look for that L529 on the tag by the passenger's side cowl vent. Paint it whatever you want. Changing colors is hard since EVERYTHING was painted on the body shell, so the engine bay, inside door jams, hood underside, blah blah would all have to be painted too, or use black. Unless you're building a car for show and trophies, I wouldn't worry about originality. Silver is a good color. That Strato blue is nice. Yellow is nice. There's always red. PS enamel is not a color, it's a type of pigment, any paint can be "enamel" in any color, as I understand it

If you are planning on going for BC Collector plates, you need to keep it (close to) a factory colour. I'm guessing collector status would be too restrictive for what you want to use the car for, so paint it whatever you think looks good! But these guys are right, keeping the colour the same (or close) to what it is now makes for an easier (and cheaper) paint job.
