Unanswered: Best Fiberglass???

Anyone out there have a recommendation for the best fiberglass and resin? I am making a custom raised hood to allow for my raised engine and would like to know if one is better than another?

I will be using alot of it obviously....

Paulie, not to question your skills in fiberglassing, but wouldn't it be easier to get a Lenk Tuning hood from OGTS. I have one on Willit? and it looks pretty good. If you don't like the nostrils in it, you could glass them over as one or two members have done. It's a bolt on for the most part, although there are no hooks to latch it down, those would have to be fabricated and glassed in place along with the hood prop. I had to remove the hood latch mechanism for the V-6, so I made up some small hood pins with stainless hardware and use an electric actuator to open and close the hood as well as keeping it open. There's a short video of it in my "Member's Photo Album".

LOL, I was sure I would get that response...I actually have one of the Lenk hoods, I just want to do this as a personal "see if I can do it" project. It's one of the things that I do, challenge myself to improve skills and show other's that hell if I can do it so can they! And after seeing Dallas's slideshow of how he did his fiberglassing I am really inspired.

Oh yeah, on my Lenk hood, I did glass in those nostrils. I think on the one I am making I will probably put some kind of air flow part on it.

That's neat. Be sure to take lotsa pics and such. It's kinda sorta like what I did with the engine/tranny swap on Willit?. Just hope it doesn't take you THAT long as it did for me.

Paulie;
How much does the clearance have to be. You could try something like this:
Breeze - Opel Photo Gallery
This was my sister's GT, it had a cowl induction hood from a Chevelle grafted on, looked awesome.
