Unanswered: On the downhill slope!!! Primed!!!

Folks, my 71' GT is finally on the downhill slope to completion. For those not familiar with my plight I was able to get a friend who is in autobody/paint school here in Georgia to take on my GT as her final project.

Long story short, it went in to the shop in May with declarations of being done in July, to now. But the good news is that as you can see, all of the body stuff is done and she is all primed and ready to be painted. That has to happen in the next two weeks as that will be the end of her semester.

Other news is that while she will be able to paint it, she will not be able to put it back together. I am planning on having it all put back together at a restoration shop here locally in Atlanta, and one of their techs used to work on Opels in Belgium...personally, I'll pay the money to have it put back together correctly the first time...no sense in getting it back from a student all screwed up.

So, downhill slope and hopefully I will be able to make it to the Jan 24th Georgia Opelers gathering.....my mouth is watering and it has been 4 long years my friends....the reward is a coming.

Paulie

Paulie;
Glad to hear it. We look forward to seeing you and it in Jan. BTW, what color are you going with?

Why not get all of those fine Opel folks down that way to assemble it for you.

Have a meeting before the meeting. Heck, just get Dieter to agee to prepare a dish or two and the rest will show up. I'd get work out of them first though. You know how people are in the South, we'll eat a good meal and aren't worth killing afterwards! Of course there are few ahead of the meal.

Looks like it's coming together nicely. Female doing the work, huh. Supposedly one of the best custom painters in Nashville is female. I've seen some of her work and it was nice. She had an Opel that she had planned to work on years ago. I was trying to swap out mechanical work for bodywork and paint but lost touch with her.
