Unanswered: Aftermarket Sunroof in Manta (Was "It's Summertime")

My car does not have an A/C and I am considering installing a decent sunroof that would fit nicely on a Manta. Any leads are appreciated.

Thanks in advance...

Try this:
CR Laurence SUNROOF : JC Whitney: Auto Parts & Accessories
I got one of these for my 74 Sportwagon, which the roof is similar, but, it will work. You can go as big as the 17 X 35 sunroof which is what I used. Once installed, you can leave the side windows closed and open the center dash vents and get tons of air. Worth it? YES!!!

Just don't make a hash of it!!! Too many cars have had their tops cut open improperly and as a result are now rust in the wind.

Agreed, bad sunroofs are ugly too. But more useful than dealer A/C on a sunny day.

I installed mine myself, it's just READING the instructions carefully, and measuring not twice, but, several times before making the inital hole/cut. To make the actual cut, I used a tool similar to this:
Amazon.com: Bessey D23 All Purpose Sheet Metal Nibbler: Home Improvement Amazon.com: Bessey D23 All Purpose Sheet Metal Nibbler: Home Improvement
It's called a "nibbler" It cut's metal a little neater than tin/metal shears. I would practice on a junk piece of car before just digging right in. Then, use the supplied sealer, do the interior triming and go slow, and it should come out great!

Usually either the seal between the sunroof frame and the roof or the seal between the frame and the glass starts to leak and then you end up with water inside the car.

I always was going to put the appropriate sized one of these in the 4-door Kadett to give it a more Continental feel, but never got to it. Still thinking about it for the Coupe.

And one of these will make short work of making the hole, as long as you have an air compressor.
