Answered: That Battery Tray Dilemma
A simple bolt on after drilling solution, and with the hold down bolts moveable to switch battery size choices. This design will fill the original GT battery location. Please message me or email me with your interest in such a tray. I have to get the prototype done yet, and test it, yet then we will be prepared to reproduce in quantity. My research in all current options have driven me to make this for my own project and I desire to share with all of you good Opelers

Or just buy one from Opel GT Source and keep them in business.

No, but they make a fiberglass one that is pretty much as or more resistant to corrosion

Fiberglass Battery Tray
Installed the OPGTS fiberglass battery tray a few years ago and have no problems with corrosion. Drilled a clearance hole through the radiator support to connect the battery ground with the engine ground for a cleaner installation.

I should have a drawing completed soon and am having 3 trays made up. Friend in the sheet metal business is making them for free. 3rd tray may be a prototype of sorts so we can have a fully bracketed and bolt in ready item to discuss.
Photos will follow at some point here. Have this offer to go stainless, so I'm going for it.

excellent Jeff
Your photo is nearly how my tray will appear. I know simpler off the shelf solutions are available to us, but I have this stainless laying around and a good fellow to make some bends for me.
My digital camera is in the repair shop
